Our “Shack”
The renowned Bundeena Beachshack, on secluded Gunyah Beach, is the last remaining original Fisherman’s Cottage left standing there. “Gunyah “ means Shelter in the Dharawal language... and it is!
Built in 1926, when its building materials were floated across the bay, The Shack perches on a rock ledge just above the sands. Owners Roger and Lyn have sensitively restored this historic cottage, retaining the original features, yet gently refurbishing to a high level of comfort. Completely self-contained, incredibly cosy through all the seasons, yet absolutely on the beach! It has pergola-covered courtyards on both sides of the cottage, providing morning and afternoon sun dappled through the grapevine canopy for privacy of guests. You will never be closer to nature than this. No wonder it has won so many accolades, amazing guest feedback, and a Tourism award for Best Small Accommodation.
Location: Gunyah Beach Bundeena is just a one hour drive from the Sydney CBD, the last 20 minutes of which are through our amazing Royal National Park, the second oldest gazetted park in the world.
